When a WordPress site feels slow, changing random settings is rarely the best approach. A structured audit makes it easier to identify the largest bottleneck.
Check the page first
Look at the size of the page, number of requests, image dimensions and third-party scripts.
Review plugins
Deactivate unnecessary plugins in a safe staging environment and compare the result. Keep only the tools that provide real value.
Optimize images
Serve images at appropriate dimensions and use modern formats where practical. A large hero image can easily outweigh many smaller optimizations.
Use caching carefully
Page caching can dramatically improve repeat visits, but cache settings should be tested after every major design or content change.
